One Week in Japan. One Year of Family Connection.
Year-round language exchange + Japanese primary school immersion program

Palaygo Stay offers more than a traditional homestay—it is a complete family immersion experience. Designed specifically for primary school-aged children, your child will spend an unforgettable week attending a local Japanese primary school, joining neighborhood events, and making genuine friends their own age.
The connection extends to your whole family. Through secure Palaygo Talk sessions, teenage siblings can also get involved by connecting with Japanese peers their own age, while parents build relationships with host families. Paired with year-round access to our interactive language platform before and after your trip, Palaygo Stay builds meaningful, lasting international friendships for every member of the family.

Features of our program

Authentic School & Homestay Immersion
Experience the best of both worlds: weekday immersion in a local Japanese primary school paired with a welcoming homestay experience. The host famlies are trusted and selected members of both Palaygo and PUKEKO (local community organisation)'s joint community. Students live daily Japanese culture firsthand, forming lasting friendships with host siblings who are also learning English. (No prior Japanese required!)

Connect all year through Palaygo — before and after your Japan stay
Enjoy 24 complimentary video chat sessions (twice monthly) plus exclusive learning content over a full year. Students can build confidence and practice conversational Japanese and English with similar aged peers and families in Japan before and after their trip.
What are Palaygo Talk and Mail?
Palaygo Talk connects your child to age-matched peers in Japan through safe, live, one-to-one video chats. From the comfort of home, students put their lessons into practice—building real conversational fluency, gaining cultural insight, and making international friends naturally.

Experience World-Class Winter Activities in Hokkaido
In Hokkaido, snow sports are such an essential part of local life that skiing is even built into the primary school curriculum. Known globally for its world-class powder snow, Hokkaido offers an ideal winter wonderland for young learners.
The program includes a full-day guided ski lesson to help students build confidence on the slopes, followed by an exciting second mountain excursion to ski, snowboard, and play in the snow alongside local Japanese children and their host families!
