Language Discovery Ltd (Language Discovery Group), based in Japan and Australia, is now accepting applicants for the 13th Australia Palaygo Tour, scheduled for July 17–27, 2026, as part of its "Palaygo" program (https://www.palaygo.com/).

 

■ Homestay families with elementary school children studying Japanese

Host families are pro-Japan Australian households with elementary school children who are learning Japanese. Participants attend the same local school as the homestay child, so there's built-in support for communication, giving families peace of mind. The children in these host families are very interested in Japan and are kind and welcoming.

 

■ Weekdays spent with the host family and at the local school

Through classes and activities at the local school, participants can immerse themselves in a genuine English-speaking environment and directly experience the need for English. Being in an environment different from their own culture also helps children understand the existence and significance of other cultures—an experience that can have a major impact on their future choices.

 

■ Online exchange continues after the program ends

Participants can continue exchanging messages online through Palaygo both before and after the tour, allowing the international skills fostered during the trip to be sustained and further developed. Thanks to the platform's proprietary "palette" technology, participants of any English level can easily compose accurate sentences and communicate effectively.

 

■ Local cooperation and support structure

This tour is an educational program that has received financial support from the Australian federal government for more than 10 consecutive years. Through Palaygo's online program, the organization already has an established partnership with the local school and teachers, ensuring a solid and safe cooperative structure with the school and host families. Because host families are households whose children are taking Japanese-language classes at that school, they have a strong interest in Japan, creating a warm welcome and an easy, approachable communication environment not typically found with ordinary host families. Location: A local public elementary school in Australia (Melbourne)

Eligible ages: 4th grade elementary school (age 10 and up) through 3rd grade junior high school (parents may also participate)

Capacity: 15 people

Tour organizers: Co-hosted by the Australia Language Discovery Group and ACT Japan Travel

Departure points: Osaka / Tokyo

Cost: Since the tour fee is linked to airfare, the amount may fluctuate depending on airline price increases.
